Costa Rica Trip

Costa Rica has been on our bucket list for years and we finally were able to visit it.  The country is so beautiful and there is so much to experience, we really needed more than 6 days.  In our brief time there, we hiked around the Rincon de la Vieja volcano, soaked in the hot springs, swam in the Oropendola and Llanos de Cortes waterfalls, visited the Bijagua Ranas animal sanctuary, walked over the hanging bridges at Heliconia and even had some relaxing time around the Dreams Las Mareas resort.  Our tour guide Juan was indispensable with his local knowledge and eagerness to find all the wildlife I wanted to photograph.  For gear, I went all out and brought my big camera backpack, the Think Tank Backlight 18l.  Within this I had a Nikon Z6iii with a Nikon 180-600mm attached with an optional 1.4x teleconverter.  For wider angle shots, I paired that with a Nikon Zf and Nikon 24-200mm in a Think Tank Hubba Hubba Hiney waist pack strapped to the backpack waist belt.  Not the lightest of setup, but for a trip like this, I’ll gladly carry the weight.  Everything performed amazingly well.  So as not to make this post too long, I’ve uploaded a pair of galleries for Landscapes and Wildlife here.  We hope to one day get back to Costa Rica to explore some more.
