Exploring an Abandoned Distillery A short drive away on the edge of a river rests the remains of an old abandoned distillery. I’ve often floated past the site in a kayak or raft and thought I should visit it. So I did. With not a ‘No Trespassing’ sign in sight, off I went. Not sure of what I would encounter, I packed light with a small sling bag holding a Leica M10, Voigtlander 35mm f/1.4 and a TTArtisan 50mm f/1.4. While I would have loved a wider angle, the 35mm did great and was the only lens I used. The light was great and there was plenty to see. Once I have more time, I’d like to go back and explore some more. The old ruins are slowly getting overtaken by nature and the process is beautiful. Trees and plants growing through floors and between steel girders. Concrete floors cracking and metal rusting. Not sure how well the structure is holding together, I didn’t venture too far inside the buildings. Post navigation Camping through a StormMorning Birding
